Since 1937 Benson & Clegg has dressed the modern gentleman from its Edwardian boutique in London’s Piccadilly Arcade. Tailors to His Majesty King George VI, Harry Benson and Thomas Clegg have created a unique tailoring profile, which continues to this day. The company’s hallmark cut has been, and still is, appreciated by elite customers, including Maurice Chevalier and The Rolling Stones’ Charlie Watts.
At the forefront of fine tailoring and accessorising, Benson & Clegg’s skilled craftsmen create suits cut from handpicked fabrics woven at historic mills in the English countryside. To enhance, complete and add considered style to suited looks, they also specialise in providing exquisite British accessories – a unique selection of buttons, cufflinks, ties and badges, all handmade by expert artisans.
As part of the launch for a new collection, we were asked to design and produce a lookbook to showcase the best of their tailoring and accessories. The introduction for the book summarised their history, from the early days right up to today, while subsequent pages detail the process of bespoke tailoring. A beautiful library of imagery was produced by our photographic partners at IHEART Studios and used throughout the lookbook. Shots ranged from models wearing tailored suits, at their London boutique to highlighting the beautiful details of their accessories across a range of still life shots.
The lookbook, designed to A5 landscape format, was printed on a premium stock with a foiled cover, and sent out to their customer database as well as available to clients in their London boutique. From the initial inception of the lookbook to the final printed piece, care was given at every step of the way to ensure the premium quality that Benson & Clegg are renowned for was upheld.
Benson & Clegg were left with a beautifully timeless library of imagery, that encapsulates the premium nature of the tailoring and accessories which they produce. This imagery had a multi-use benefit for the client as in addition to the lookbook, they had a ready-made and professionally shot suite of assets for social media, on and offline marketing, and for use in editorial.
