Formation London is the culmination of over 18 years of work by Simon White. He brings a philosophy of innovation to fuel his creative and strategic work. His problem-solving skills span creative, strategy, UX and tech, for brands such as Sony, Audi, adidas, RBS, and Philips, helping them to make sense of the internet ecosystem and all it has to offer.
Formation London tasked us with working with them to get their logo and website looking their best. They wanted a simple logo that could stand with or without the logotype to be used on all their communications, including workshop packs and stationery. The brief was for something that alluded to formations – something in flight – but in an abstract way, and playful. The angles that form the shapes became intrinsically linked to that of the typeface.
Working in collaboration with Simon and the strong vision he already had, we wanted to give the website an essence of his personality, so we photographed a series of his belongings and found objects to be used as background images. The fully responsive website is based on the WordPress platform allowing it to be easily updated with work, people and blog articles in the future.
